Traditional Thai Massage & Therapies
East meets West Thai
Thai bodywork often includes Hot Herbal Compress, and Foot Reflexology to balance the body, reduce chronic pain and increase flexibility. Traditional Thai Massage is performed on a floor mat with the recipient wearing loose clothing.
Swedish
Swedish massage is the most well-known style of massage therapy designed to help relax the body and mind. It’s a body massage with lotion or oil applied to specific tissues while a person lies comfortably on a warm massage table. The massage therapist works with different muscle groups as indicated during the therapeutic interview process. Research indicates that a Swedish massage also helps circulation, relieves mental stress, and reduces muscle pain and tension.

Aromatherapy
How does it work?
Aromatherapy has been used for thousands of years. Hippocrates, father of modern medicine, advocated the use of aromatherapy due to his experience that aromatic baths and scented massage were key to good health. Aromatherapy today combined with massage has emerged as a clinical and holistic therapy for the support of insomnia, pain reduction, stress reduction, dementia, athletic performance & we-being.
Scent works by reaching the part of the brain where our instincts, memories, and emotions, pleasure and pain are stored. Aromatherapy allows for you to access deeper states of relaxation
Due to essential oil’s ability to influence the nervous system, essential oils have been shown in animal and human studies to exhibit anxiety-relieving, stress-relieving, and sedative effects.

Pregnancy Massage
Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress for mom and baby and to promote overall wellness. Massage research indicates that prenatal massage offers relief from many of the normal pregnancy discomforts as well as, reduced anxiety, depression, backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema (or swelling). In a study of labor pain, women who received massage therapy experienced significant reduction in pain, and their labors were on average 3 hours shorter with less need for medication. Specially designed pregnancy pillows can also be utilized to optimize comfort during her session.
Massage therapy has been demonstrated to be effective during pregnancy. Women who received massage therapy reported decreased depression, anxiety, and leg and back pain. Cortisol levels decreased and, in turn, excessive fetal activity decreased, and the rate of prematurity was lower in the massage group. In a study of labor pain, women who received massage therapy experienced significantly less pain, and their labors were on average 3 h shorter with less need for medication. An underlying mechanism we have been exploring is that these effects are mediated by increased vagal activity. This likely occurs by the stimulation of pressure receptors that are innervated by vagal afferent fibers, which ultimately project to the limbic system, including hypothalamic structures involved in autonomic nervous system regulation and cortisol secretion.
Cupping
Cupping therapy allows for gentle suction drawing the skin up into the cup separating the layers of skin, muscle and fascia. This releases adhered tissue and chronic scar tissue that can cause pain the tension.
